Inscribed Photograph signed: "Harry David Cooper/All good
wishes/Moyra Fraser". B/w, 3½x5½. Born in Australia, actress and ballet
dancer Moyra Fraser (1923-2009) moved with her family to England in 1924.
She became a principal dancer at the Sadler's Wells Ballet, performing the
title role in Giselle and creating the role of "Hope" in The
Quest. Moving from ballet to theatre, she starred in the West End
premiere of Song of Norway (1944), one of many appearances there, and
was seen in Shakespeare comedies with the Old Vic. Her first film role was in
the musical The Dancing Years (1948). In 1971, she starred in The Boy
Friend. Her TV appearances included recurring roles on the British series
The Good Life (1975-1977) and As Time Goes By (1993-2005). She was
the sister of actress Shelagh Fraser, and the wife of author Douglas Sutherland.
