MUHAMMAD ALIThe talented boxer pens his name on this playful 20x16 photo Photograph signed: "Muhammad Ali" B/w, 20x16. Ali is shown in a boxing ring attempting to fend off all four of the Beatles, John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The "Fab Four" met Muhammad Ali (1942-2016), still known as Cassius Clay, on February 18, 1964, during their first U.S. tour. The meeting inspired the following verse from Clay: "When Liston reads about the Beatles visiting me,/he'll be so mad I'll knock him out in three."One week later,on February 25, 1964, Ali, as Cassius Clay, knocked out champion Sonny Liston (but in the 7th round, not the 3rd) in Miami Beach to win the World Heavyweight title. He was stripped of his title in 1967 for refusing military service. On October 30, 1974, Ali KO'd George Foreman in the eighth round in Zaire to regain the title. Leon Spinks became champ when he won a 15-round decision over Ali on February 15, 1978 in Las Vegas but lost a rematch with Ali in New Orleans in another 15-round decision on September 15, 1978. Ali retired as World Heavyweight Champion in 1979.He is the only three-time World Heavyweight Champion. Fine condition.
