As Cassius Clay, Muhammad Ali (1942-2016) first made boxing news with his Light-Heavyweight Gold Medal win at the 1960 Olympics. After winning the World Heavyweight title in 1964, he went on to fight in 61 title bouts. George Forman (b. 1949) went for the gold in 1968 and brought it home as Olympic Heavyweight Champion. He was KO'd by Ali in a 1974 title bout. Larry Holmes (b. 1949) and Leon Spinks (1953-2021) did not participate in the Olympics; however they both fought Ali. Holmes defended his WBC title in 1980, scoring a KO on Ali. Spinks took the belt from Ali on February 15, 1978; a September 15 rematch, later that year, restored the crown to the Olympic champion. Framed in the Gallery of History style: 31¼x21¼.
