MUHAMMAD ALI
The boxer known for his activism signs this newspaper headline
Newspaper Headline signed: "Muhammad Ali/ Nov 30-86" 13¾x4¼. Upper portion of the front page of "The Cincinnati Enquirer", November 13, 1986 issue. Ali has signed in the center box, which is headlined: "Muhammad Ali flashes some sleight of hand/ Ex-boxing champion in town to teach lessons with magic". Ali, who once said, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth", was involved in a number of philanthropic causes. He loved magic, and used his skills to reach at-risk children across the nation. On February 25, 1964, Muhammad Ali (1942-2016), as Cassius Clay, knocked out champion Sonny Liston in the seventh round in Miami Beach to win the World Heavyweight title. He was stripped of his title in 1967 for refusing military service. On October 30, 1974, Ali KO'd George Foreman in the eighth round in Zaire to regain the title. Leon Spinks became champ when he won a 15-round decision over Ali on February 15, 1978 in Las Vegas but lost a rematch with Ali in New Orleans in another 15-round decision on September 15, 1978. Ali, the only three-time World Heavyweight Champion, retired as World Heavyweight Champion in 1979. Creased, touching signature. Staple holes at upper left-hand corner. Irregular left and bottom edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
