the boxer formerly known as Cassius Clay, faced former World Heavyweight Champion Floyd
Patterson twice in the ring. In their first match-up, on November 22, 1965, Ali, who had won
the World Heavyweight Title from Sonny Liston in February 1964, defeated Patterson in Las
Vegas with a KO in the 12th round to retain the championship. On September 20, 1072, in
Madison Square Garden, Ali retained his Heavyweight Title after knocking Patterson out in the
7th round of the fight, which marked Patterson's last appearance in the ring. Ali retired as
World Heavyweight Champion in 1979. He is the only three-time World Heavyweight
Champion. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 14¼ x 23½.
