Autograph Note signed: "Just heard! Congratulations - best wishes/and the best of everything to two of the/swellest people I've met./R. Murray Nash/A & R - Mercury", 7¾x5¼ album leaf. Magazine photo of Nash affixed below signature. Also signed on verso: "Dear George - You're a grand disk-/jockey & M.C. - and an entertaining 'fellow/writer', but best of all you're a wonderful/person to have for a friend and I hope/when your beard reaches your knees I'll still/be visiting with you & Helen (& your great/grand kids). It's swell knowing you./Sunny Ciesla/National Hillbilly News/Record Roundup". R. Murray Nash (1918-2003) wrote some country music, including "Cold Steel Blues" (1969), but was even more prominent as a music executive and record producer. As head country music for newly founded Mercury Records, he signed Flatt & Scruggs. He was a major promoter of Roy Acuff and Hank Williams. Nash produced several anthology collections of country and related music (bluegrass, rockabilly), with titles like Dim Lights, Thick Smoke and Hillbilly Music. Sunny Ciesla (b. 1924) wrote a music review column National Hillbilly News from the late 1940s. George Sanders was a radio DJ turned radio/TV interview host in Los Angeles and then Portland. He collected autographs from guests on his show. Toned. Left edge lightly frayed.Corners slightly worn. Light surface creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
