MY MORNING JACKET: PATRICK HALLAHAN, JIM JAMES and TWO TONE TOMMY. Photograph signed: "Patrick Hallahan", "Jim James" and "Two/Tone Tommy". Color, 8x10. Publicity photograph. My Morning Jacket, an American rock band known for their reverb-soaked sound, was formed in 1998 by singer/songwriter and guitarist JIM JAMES, who got the group's moniker from a discarded coat with the letters "MMJ" on it. TWO TONE TOMMY, a bassist, was in the orginal group, which also included J. Glenn on drums and Johnny Quaid on guitar. Danny Cash (layout and keyboards) joined in 2000, but late that year, J. Glenn left the band. Chris Guetig briefly replaced him until James' childhood friend, PATRICK HALLAHAN, joined the band in May 2002. Quaid and Cash left MMJ in 2004 and were replaced by Carl Broemel and Bo Koster. The signers of this photograph performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, and they made a cameo appearance in the 2005 film, Elizabethtown, as a fictitious southern rock band, Rufus, which performed a rousing rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird". MMJ was featured on an episode of Austin City Limits in 2006, the year the performed at the Coachella Valley Music Festival and James was awarded an "Esky" for best songwriter by "Esquire" magazine. In 2006, they also opened for Pearl Jam during the first leg of their 2006 tour, and My Morning Jacket was the musical guest on The Late Show with David Letterman in June 2006. Slightly creased at upper right corner and blank edge. Minor surface creases (not evident head on), one nicks Hallahan's signature. Fine condition.
