Signature: "Myrna Loy" in black felt tip, 4¾x3¼ card. Myrna Loy (1905-1993) was a dancer
who entered films in the silent era (1925). In a film career that continued up until 1980
(Just Tell Me What You Want being her final feature film), she frequently played strong,
independent women. She co-starred with William Powell as husband and wife detectives in
the six movies of The Thin Man series (1934-1947). Working through World War II with
the Red Cross, she returned after the war in some of her strongest roles: The Best Years of Our
Lives (1946), Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948), and Cheaper by the Dozen
(1950). She was awarded an honorary Oscar in 1991. Lightly frayed along top and bottom
edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
