The Tony Award nominated actress writes a letter to a fan and
encourages him to watch her son, Zen Gesner, on The Adventures of
Sinbad.
Autograph Letter signed: "Nan Martin" 1 page, 6½x4½. No
place, no date. Written to "Dear Dan", in full: "Thank you
so much for your letter. I love to hear from fans. Here are your cards, and also
my photo- and a photo of my son, Zen Gesner, who stars in "The Adventures of
Sinbad" on T.V. I hope you can catch him- I think he's special!" American
actress Nan Martin (1927-2010) was born in Decatur, Illinois. She
appeared on stage, in films and on television series for over 50 years.
After being nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a
Play (J.B., 1958-1959), she began
to appear frequently for audiences in popular television shows like Twilight
Zone (1963), Perry Mason (1965), Mission: Impossible (1970)
and Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). Her Broadway career spanned
three decades and included comedies (The Constant Wife, 1951-1952) and
dramas (The Eccentricities of a Nightingale, 1976). Late in her career,
Martin appeared in popular comedy series like The Drew Carey Show
(1995-1999) and Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000) and her notable films include
Goodbye, Columbus (1969), For Love of Ivey (1968) and Greener
Mountains (2005). In the letter she mentions her son, Zen Gesner, who
enjoyed the role of Sinbad on The Adventures of Sinbad from 1996 to
