FDC commemorating oil wagons of the 1890s, three 10.1-cent stamps affixed, postmarked Washington, D.C., June 27, 1988, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Nancy Malone (1938-2014) was an actress who gradually became a director, producer, and even production vice-president. Early in her entertainment career, she landed starring roles in the series The Naked City (1960-1963) and The Long Hot Summer (1965-1966) and appeared in other roles on television on shows such as The Twilight Zone. Malone moved on to directing television episodes, most prolifically Hotel (11 episodes) and Dynasty (16 episodes). She founded her own production company, Lilac Productions, which produced a dozen TV movies, including Sherlock Holmes in New York (1976). In 1976, she was named the Vice-President of Television at 20th Century Fox, the first female to be named to that high of a position in the company. Fine condition.
