NAT "KING" COLE, CO-SIGNED BY DAVE KING
The legendary singer and entertainer signs this album sheet along with the British comedian who guest-starred on a TV special
Signature: "Nat King Cole" and, on verso, "thanks/DaveKing" in ink, 6x4 album leaf. Balladeer, pianist and bandleader NAT KING COLE (1917-1965), born Nathaniel Adams Cole, was second only to Frank Sinatra during his generation, charting over 100 singles, including his No.1 hit, "Ramblin' Rose", and more than two dozen albums. Cole, who led the successful Nat King Cole and the Nat Cole Trio from 1939-1951, recorded, toured internationally, was a fixture on radio and television shows, including his own The Nat King Cole Show (1956-1957 on NBC), and appeared in films. Cole was awarded a Grammy Award in 1959 for Midnight Flyer, and in 1991, 26 years after his death, he was awarded a second Grammy Award, posthumously, for Record of the Year for his recording of "Unforgettable", which was re-recorded in 1991 with his daughter, Natalie, who was 16 when he died. DAVE KING (1929-2002) was a British comedian and singer. He was one of the few British comics to top the bill at the London Palladium as well as having top rating TV shows in both Britain and America, such as Music-Hall, The Dave King Show and Dave's World. He also made guest appearances on The Bing Crosby Show and the TV special, A Cool Evening with Nat King Cole (1960). Although his success was relatively short as a comedian, he later became a respected TV and film actor. He played roles in The Ritz (1976) and The Long Good Friday (1980), along with many others. Irregular left edge from removal from bound book. Lightly shaded at blank edges. Light show through of writing on verso touches signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
