pianist and bandleader Nat "King" Cole (1917-1965), born Nathaniel Adams Cole, was
second only to Frank Sinatra during his generation, charting over 100 singles, including
his No.1 hit, "Ramblin' Rose", and more than two dozen albums. Cole, who led the
successful Nat King Cole and the Nat Cole Trio from 1939-1951, recorded, toured
internationally, was a fixture on radio and television shows, including his own The Nat King
Cole Show (1956-1957 on NBC), and appeared in films. Cole was awarded a Grammy
Award in 1959 for Midnight Flyer, and in 1991, 26 years after his death, he was awarded a
second Grammy Award, posthumously, for Record of the Year for his recording of
"Unforgettable", which was re-recorded in 1991 with his daughter, Natalie, who was 16
when he died. Fine condition. Framed to an overall size of 15x23¾.
