The comedian signs "all best wishes" with his and his wife's name
Autograph sentiment signed: "all best wishes/Sincerely Yours/Nat Mills + Bobbie", in blue ink, 6x5¼. British comedian Nat Mills (1900-1993) was one-half of the no-straight-man, all-funny-man comic duo Nat Mills & Bobbie with wife Bobbie MacCauley. Mills got his start in pantomime at 13 before breaking into variety. Nat Mills and Bobbie premiered in 1929 and were a hit from day one. Known for their catchphrase "Let's get on with it", which they rarely did, their act consisted of non-sequitirs delivered in an annoying whine while wearing ill-fitting costumes. For some reason, their odd shtick was wildly popular, on radio as well as live, and they kept the show going until 1955, when MacCauley died. A grieving Mills largely retired after his wife's death and went to work in his brother's carpeting company. Light surface creases. Left edge frayed and worn from binding. Corners and edges slightly worn and creased. Faint stains across page. Otherwise, fine condition.
