The Grammy-winning singer signed this contract in 1976 to appear at the Dorothy
Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles
Contract signed: "Natalie Cole" as Artist and "Thomas S. Robin" as Purchaser, both in black
ink, 2p (front and verso), 8½x10¾. Nov. 9, 1976. International Creative Management
contract. Cole signed this contract with Artists Consultants, agreeing to appear in a one-hour
show at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 1, 1977. She was
to be paid $7,500 for this performance. Natalie Cole (1950-2015), born Stephanie Natalie
Maria Cole, is probably best known to modern audiences for her Grammy win for 1991's
Unforgettable, which she sang (via electronic editing) with her father Nat King Cole. Cole
made her stage debut at 11 and released her first album in 1975, scoring Top 10 hits on the
Billboard pop and black charts with This Will Be (1975), Inseparable (1976), Sophisticated
Lady (She's a Different Lady) (1976), I've Got Love On My Mind (1977), Party Lights
(1977), Our Love (1978), Stand By (1979) and Gimme Some Time (1980), before switching
from R&B to jazz-based pop in 1988. Cole continued to perform and chart songs on the
adult contemporary, R&B/hip-hop, and Billboard Hot 100 charts until her death in 2015.
