NATALIE COLE
The Grammy-winning singer signed this contract in 1976 to appear at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles
Contract signed: "Natalie Cole" as Artist and "Thomas S. Robin" as Purchaser, both in black ink, 2p (front and verso), 8½x10¾. Nov. 9, 1976. International Creative Management contract. Cole signed this contract with Artists Consultants, agreeing to appear in a one-hour show at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 1, 1977. She was to be paid $7,500 for this performance. Natalie Cole (1950-2015), born Stephanie Natalie Maria Cole, is probably best known to modern audiences for her Grammy win for 1991's Unforgettable, which she sang (via electronic editing) with her father Nat King Cole. Cole made her stage debut at 11 and released her first album in 1975, scoring Top 10 hits on the Billboard pop and black charts with This Will Be (1975), Inseparable (1976), Sophisticated Lady (She's a Different Lady) (1976), I've Got Love On My Mind (1977), Party Lights (1977), Our Love (1978), Stand By (1979) and Gimme Some Time (1980), before switching from R&B to jazz-based pop in 1988. Cole continued to perform and chart songs on the adult contemporary, R&B/hip-hop, and Billboard Hot 100 charts until her death in 2015. Blue ink stamps and black ink and red pencil marks in an unknown hand. Lightly toned and creased. Carbon copy marks. Staple holes at upper left-hand corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
