Warner Brothers publicity photograph for A Cry in the Night, also starring Edmond O'Brien and Brian Donlevy. Natalie Wood (1938-1981) tackled her first "adult" role as Liz Taggart in this 1956 melodrama. She successfully made the transition from a child star (1947's holiday favorite Miracle on 34th Street) to screen ingénue to accomplished mature actress. Along with Elizabeth Taylor, the photogenic Wood was queen of the fan magazines in the 1950s and proved her talent with Academy Award nominations for Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Splendor in the Grass (1961) and Love with the Proper Stranger (1963). Other film credits of the versatile actress who died in 1981, include West Side Story and Gypsy. Ink lightly smudged. Surface creases and scratches, not evident head-on. Otherwise, fine condition.
