Along with Elizabeth Taylor, the photogenic Wood was queen of the fan magazines in the 1950s, and she proved her talent with Academy Award nominations for Rebel Without a Cause (1955), Splendor in the Grass (1961) and Love with the Proper Stranger (1963). Other film credits of the versatile actress include West Side Story (1961) and Gypsy (1962) She was married to actor Robert Wagner from 1957-1962, and the couple remarried in 1972.
