Texas, 1972 September 20, on State of Texas letterhead. To: Mr. J. L.
Pruett, Clute, Texas. In full: "I will be happy to assist you in any
way but I do not understand your request. If you will be kind enough to advise
me the particular area of your interest, I will endeavor to procure such
material as may be published and available within the various State agencies.

1929), an attorney, was a Texas State Representative (1960-1976),
Judge (1976-1994) and was also the Texas State Artist (1987-1988).
While attending college, Caldwell contributed political cartoons to The Daily
Texan at the University of Texas, as a Judge, he drew what he saw from the
bench -Justice in Black and White. His oil paintings and drawings are
displayed at the law schools at Baylor, South Texas College of Law, University
of Houston, and the University of Texas. His work has been shown at
galleries across the county. Caldwell, "I would like
to be remembered as a fair judge, always trying to do the right thing". Normal mailing folds. Lightly creased at edges.
