Typed Document Signed: "Neil Simon" and "Marsha Mason Simon" in ink, 1p, 8½x11. New York, 1982 July 23. The playwright borrows $750,000 from his New York Corporation. Headed: "Action by Unanimous Written Consent of the Board of Directors of Nancy Enterprises, Inc., a New York Corporation". In part: "WHEREAS, Neil Simon desires to borrow the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000) from the corporation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is in the best interests of the corporation to loan the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000) to Neil Simon upon the terms and conditions set forth in the Promissory Note dated July 23, 1992 in the principal amount of Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750,000), in favor of the corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto...." [not present]. Nancy Enterprises, Inc., named after Simon's eldest daughter, Nancy, was Owner/Operator of the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, which housed seven Broadway shows from 1969-1982, including Yentl, California Suite, I Ought to Be in Pictures and a revival of Little Me, on which Nancy, who was married to Woody Harrelson from 1985-1986, served as an Assistant to the Director. Simon also established another corporation, Ellen Enterprises, Inc., which was named after his youngest daughter. Four-time Oscar nominated writer and Pulitzer Prize-winner NEIL SIMON and four-time Oscar nominated actress MARSHA MASON were married in 1973 and divorced in 1981. In 1982, the year of this document, Simon, the most financially successful playwright in history, was the producer and screenwriter for the feature film, I Ought to Be in Pictures, which was based on one of the plays that was presented at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
