In full: "Thank you very much for your nice letter and for your kind commends about 'The Phanton'. I am glad you enjoyed it. We are making a new picture called 'Knickerbocker Holiday' with Charles Coburn, Constance Dowling, and Johnny Davis. The film is in costume and the music is not as heavy as in 'The Phantom'. I am to make another guest appearance on the Bell Telephone Hour on November 8th. All good wishes. Sincerely". Tan tone on verso from envelope adhesive shows through faintly at typed text. Horizontal fold crosses signature. Fine condition. Eddy's version of The Phantom of the Opera (1943) co-starred Susanna Foster and Claude Rains. Knickerbocker Holiday, based on the stage musical, is set in 1650 New Amsterdam. Two items.
