New York Town was a 1941 romantic comedy film directed by Charles Vidor starring Mary Martin and Fred MacMurray. Stage, screen and television actress MARY MARTIN (1913-1990) won Tony Awards for Best Actress for South Pacific (1950), Peter Pan (1955) and The Sound of Music (1960) and was nominated a fourth time for I Do! I Do! (1967). She also won a special Tony Award for the national tour of Annie Get Your Gun (1948). Martin reprised her most famous role, the title character in Peter Pan, for television. She is the mother of actors Larry Hagman and Heller Halliday. Actor FRED MacMURRAY (1908-1991) was equally adept in comedies, dramas and musicals. Among his memorable films were True Confession (1937), Double Indemnity (1944) and The Caine Mutiny (1954). His Disney films included The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent-Minded Professor (1961) and Son of Flubber (1963). MacMurray was best known to TV audiences as widower Steven Douglas, raising My Three Sons from 1960-1972. Corners rounded. Light surface creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
