Contract double signed: "Nick Castle", 8 pages, (one page 8½x11, 7 pages 8½x13). Contract between RKO Radio Pictures and Nick Castle for him to act as chorographer of the film The Mayor of 44th Street at the rate of $400.00 a week. Accompanied by a notarized questionnaire signed by Castle. Nick Castle (1910-1968) was an actor, dancer, and vaudeville performer best known for his work as a choreographer on several Hollywood classics. After years as a vaudeville performer, Castle moved to Hollywood in 1935, where he began working for film studios like Twentieth Century Fox, Paramount, Warner, and MGM. Most famous amongst the films he has staged or choreographed is The Little Princess with Shirley Temple (1939), Royal Wedding with Fred Astaire (1951), and Hellzapoppin' (1941). He also wrote a number of hits, including "Limpy Dimp" and "Candy Store Blues". His son, also named Nick Castle, is a film writer and portrayed the original Michael Myers in Halloween. Corners slightly worn and creased. Staple holes and binding holes in top margin. Light surface creases. Toned. Small tears along edges of contract. Otherwise, fine condition.
