Nick Adams signs a Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation Employee's
Personnel Statement.
Partly Printed Document Signed: "Nick Adams", 1p, 8½x5½. No
place, 1957 September 5. Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation
Employee's Personnel Statement. Adams has filled out the form: name,
address, social security number, sex, color, marital status, age, date of birth,
place of birth. Next to "In Case of Injury, Please Notify", Adams has
written: "Mervyn LeRoy/Warner Bros - Burbank, Calif." He listed his
year of birth as "1935" but it was changed to "1931". Signed by Warner
Bros. in 1955, Adams appeared with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause.
Adams was called upon to dub several of Dean's lines in Giant after
Dean's fatal car accident. Mervyn LeRoy had directed Adams in Mister
Roberts (1955) and was his director at the time he filled out this form
(No Time for Sergeants). Adams later portrayed ex-Confederate soldier
Johnny Yuma on the popular TV western The Rebel from 1959-1961. He
received a 1963 Oscar nomination for his performance as a murder suspect in
Twilight of Honor. Adams died in 1968, the result of an overdose of
prescription drugs. Lightly creased, worn edges, lightly soiled. 2, torn file
holes at upper margin. Overall, fine condition.
