NICK ADAMS
Nick Adams signs a Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation Employee's Personnel Statement.
Partly Printed Document Signed: "Nick Adams", 1p, 8½x5½. No place, 1957 September 5. Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation Employee's Personnel Statement. Adams has filled out the form: name, address, social security number, sex, color, marital status, age, date of birth, place of birth. Next to "In Case of Injury, Please Notify", Adams has written: "Mervyn LeRoy/Warner Bros - Burbank, Calif." He listed his year of birth as "1935" but it was changed to "1931". Signed by Warner Bros. in 1955, Adams appeared with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. Adams was called upon to dub several of Dean's lines in Giant after Dean's fatal car accident. Mervyn LeRoy had directed Adams in Mister Roberts (1955) and was his director at the time he filled out this form (No Time for Sergeants). Adams later portrayed ex-Confederate soldier Johnny Yuma on the popular TV western The Rebel from 1959-1961. He received a 1963 Oscar nomination for his performance as a murder suspect in Twilight of Honor. Adams died in 1968, the result of an overdose of prescription drugs. Lightly creased, worn edges, lightly soiled. 2, torn file holes at upper margin. Overall, fine condition.
