Cage gives his assent to a lending agreement by which Saturn Productions loans his services to Cop Gives Waitress Productions. He pledges to fulfill the terms of that contract even if his relationship with Saturn Productions should expire before completion of the project. No film is specified in this text, but actually covered Cage's starring role in the film It Could Happen to You (1994). "Cop Gives Waitress Productions" is a reference to the plot of that film in which Cage (the cop) gives waitress (Bridget Fonda) a $2 million tip - half of the winnings from a lottery ticket. Nicolas Cage, the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola, made his film debut (as Nicholas Coppola) with a small part in the 1982 classic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Following a lead role in 1983's Valley Girl, Cage spent the remainder of the decade playing endearingly bizarre and disreputable men, most notably in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), Raising Arizona (1987) and the same year's Moonstruck, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. The 1990s saw Cage take on a string of diverse roles ranging from a violent ex-con in Wild at Heart (1990) to a sweet-natured private eye in the romantic comedy Honeymoon in Vegas (1992) to a dying alcoholic in the astonishing Leaving Las Vegas, for which he won the 1996 Best Actor Academy Award. His other films include Con Air (1997), Face/Off (1997), City of Angels (1998), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001), Adaptation (2002, Best Actor Oscar nomination), Matchstick Men (2003) and National Treasure (2004).
