NOEL NEILLThe actress signed this short note on her personalized stationery twice as "Lois Lane". She wrote about a cameo scene that she had with Kirk Alyn Autograph Note signed as her character: "Lois Lane" twice in text, 2p, 4x6, front and verso. No place, no date. On United Artists Corporation memo sheet imprinted with her name to "Jim". In full: "I was the only one asked to do the cameo scene, but later on, Kirk's agent wiggled him in - the speaking part of the scene was cut so that all that was left was the railroad shot with young Lois Lane, & myself as Sr. Lois Lane". Kirk is KIRK ALYN (1910-1999), who had brought the role of Superman to the screen in a feature film (The Adventures of Superman, 1948) and a 15-part serial (Atom Man vs Superman). Both actors were featured in the 1978 film, Superman: The Movie, in which Neill appeared as Lois Lane's mother and Alyn was Lois Lane's father in the train scene mentioned in this note (both roles were uncredited).NOEL NEILL (1920-2016)is an American actress with over 70 TV shows and movies to her credit. Neill made her film debut in 1940. As a child, she wanted to be a journalist like her father. Ironically, her most famous character was a newspaper employee: Lois Lane, Superman's love interest and a journalist at the Daily Planet. She was the first actress to portray Lois Lane, appearing as the character in the 1948 film Superman. Neill reprised the role in Atom Man vs. Superman (1950) and the television show Adventures of Superman (1953-1958). She has made appearances in several superhero productions, including cameos in Superman Returns (2006) and Superboy (1988-1992). Other credits include a series of 1940s Bobby-soxer films that starred Freddie Stewart. Slightly creased. Minor show through of writing at upper portion of front.
