Printed Photograph Signed in Ink: "Clint/Walker" and "Brad/Dexter" in black felt tip,
b/w,10x8. Screen and television actor CLINT WALKER (1927-2018) is best known for his
role as Cheyenne Bodie on Cheyenne, the 1955-1963 series that popularized the Western
genre. Walker would later reprise the role in an episode of TV's Kung Fu: The Legend
Continues in 1995. He also starred in a number of films, including The Ten Commandments
(1956), None But the Brave (1965), The Night of the Grizzly (1966), and The Dirty Dozen
(1967), and voiced a role in the 1998 film Small Soldiers. He has also been seen in
made-for-TV movies, the miniseries Centennial (1978), and in guest roles in several TV
shows, including a recurring role as Cal Jasper on 77 Sunset Strip (1963). BRAD DEXTER
(1917-2002) was an amateur boxer before he entered films as a rugged character actor. During
World War II, he appeared in the morale-boosting play Winged Victory. His first credited
film role was in The Asphalt Jungle (1950). He considered his portrayal of Harry Luck in
The Magnificent Seven (1960) his best performance, but lamented, "I'm the one nobody
remembers." Interestingly, Dexter saved Frank Sinatra from drowning in Hawaii during
the filming of None But the Brave (1964); thus began an association with Sinatra which
continued through Von Ryan's Express (1965), but they had a falling out during the filming
of The Naked Runner (1967), produced by Dexter. Dexter made numerous TV guest
appearances, mostly in Westerns and detective series. He was married first to singer Peggy
Lee (briefly) in 1953 and then to Star-Kist heiress Mary Bogdonovich for more than two
decades, until her death in 1994. Ink stains on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
