NORM MILLER
The longtime professional baseball player who spent most of his career with
the Houston Astros is shown in this 3½x5½ black and white photograph
wearing a Los Angeles Angels baseball cap, a team he never took the field for.
Extremely rare!
Photograph Signed: “Norm Miller” 3½x5½ bust view. B/w. Miller is wearing a
Los Angeles Angels cap and uniform, possibly just after he was signed by the
organization ca. 1964. Norm Miller (b. 1946) played in just 53 games for the
Angels minor league affiliate, the Quad Cities Angels. He was then drafted in
the 1964 Rule 5 Draft by the Houston Astros. The outfielder and occasional
infielder spent eight seasons with the Astros in the Major Leagues, batting .240
over that time period (1965-1972). After suffering a back injury, he saw his
playing time decline significantly as the injury prevented him from reaching his
previous form. He spent two seasons with the Atlanta Braves (1983-1974) before
calling it quits. In 1968, Miller scored the winning run in the infamous
24-inning game against the New York Mets. The final score of the game was
1-0. Since he retired, Miller has published a book and hosted a sports radio
show. Fine condition.
