Bedford, MA, August 1, 1984, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Norman Lloyd, who began his
career in the theater, was a member of the Orson Welles-John Houseman Mercury
Theatre before being tapped by Alfred Hitchcock to appear in
Saboteur (1942). Hitchcock, who also cast Lloyd in
Spellbound (1945), later chose him as an associate producer and director
on his TV anthology, Alfred Hitchcock Presents. Lloyd, who later
directed the prestigious Omnibus, is best known to TV audiences
as Dr. Daniel Auschlander on the Emmy Award-winning series, St. Elsewhere
(1982-1988). He has also appeared in TV movies and has been a guest star on
several TV series, most recently as D.A. Asher Silverman on The
Practice (1997, 1998, 2003). Lightly rippled. Fine condition.
