In full: "This oil portrait of Mr. Sinatra may still be wet when you get it. It is not safe to varnish it for a month. Hope you like it. Cordially". Lightly soiled. 9½-inch vertical scratch at lower right blank margin. Creased at corners, worn at lower right edge. Overall, fine condition. The display is presented in a 20½x24½x2¾ acrylic display case. Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) captured scenes from American life in his magazine covers and illustrations, often noted for their humorous and accurate depictions of 1940's and 1950's life. He painted over 300 covers for the "Saturday Evening Post" (1916-1965) after beginning his career at age 18 as an illustrator for "Boy's Life". In addition to his many works for the Post, Rockwell illustrated the "Boy Scout Calendar" from 1926-1976. Rockwell published his autobiography, Norman Rockwell, My Adventures as an Illustrator, in 1960. Acrylic display case, not in Gallery of History style. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity.
