Signature of the first Asian-American to hold a Cabinet post
Signature: "Norman Y. Mineta", 5x3 card. Norman Yoshio Mineta (born in the US in 1931) was interned in the Heart Mountain Internment Camp, Cody, Wyoming during World War II. He later served in US Army Intelligence during the Korean War. After serving as Mayor of San Jose, California (1971-1975), he was elected to ten consecutive terms in the US House of Representatives (1975-1995). Mineta served as President Clinton's Secretary of Commerce (2000-2001) and President Bush's Secretary of Transportation (2001-2006). Mineta was the first Asian-American to hold a Cabinet post, the only Democrat in George W. Bush's Cabinet, and to date the longest serving Secretary of Transportation. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2006. Fine condition.
