Signature: "Normand Rochefort/ 31" in blue felt tip. 3x5.
Normand Rochefort (b. 1961) is a retired NHL defenseman who played
thirteen seasons for the Quebec Nordiques (1980-1988), the New York
Rangers (1988-1992), and the Tampa Bay Lightning (1993-1994). Drafted
by the Nordiques in 1980, he jumped straight into the NHL and became an
important piece of the team's blueline. Rochefort was the kind of defenseman
that you only noticed him when he made a mistake, and since he rarely ever made
mistakes, he often fell into obscurity. It wasn't until the 1987 Canada Cup
that he really began to be noticed. A year later he was traded to the New
York Rangers, but injuries prevented him from ever achieving much there. After a
quick stint with the Lightning, he played abroad and in the minor leagues before
retiring in 1998. Slightly toned. Corners rounded. Ink notes on verso in unknown
hand. Otherwise, fine condition.
