Script for the second-to-last episode of Nurses, entitled
The Big Jack Attack. This script was signed by the primaries of
Nurses' third and last season cast.
Script signed: "Arentia Walker", "Ed McMahon", "Ada Maris",
"Carlos Lacamara", "Loni Anderson", "Kip Gilman", "Mary Jo Keenen"
and "David Rasche", 51p, 8¼x10¾, bound in white paper with
brass fasteners. Final draft script dated Feb. 2, 1994 for the episode The
Big Jack Attack from the TV series Nurses. This episode first aired
on April 23, 1994 as the second-to-last episode of the third and last season.
Nurses (1991-1994) was a spinoff of NBC's Empty Nest (which was
itself a spinoff of The Golden Girls). It concerned a group of nurses
working at the same hospital as Dr. Harry Watson, the main character in Empty
Nest. DAVIOD RASCHE joined the cast in season two, as did LONI
ANDERSON in the final season, in an effort to boost ratings, so the
signatures on this script represent many of the series' primaries during its
final season. An actress since childhood, LONI ANDERSON, born in
1945, reached stardom as Jennifer Marlowe on the TV sitcom WKRP in
Cincinnati (1978-1982). Nominated for two Emmy Awards (1980,
1981) and three Golden Globes (1980, 1981 and 1982) for the role,
Anderson was in constant demand for TV movies, including portrayals of actresses
Jayne Mansfield (1980) and Thelma Todd (1991). Her feature film credits
include Stroker Ace (1983), in which she co-starred with her future
husband (1988-1995), Burt Reynolds. Their stormy and much publicized
marriage ended in divorce. Anderson went on to appear in films and make guest
appearances on several TV series, including a recurring role as Kiki
Spelling in So noTORIous (2006). ED MCMAHON (1923-2009) worked
with Johnny Carson on the TV quiz show, Who Do You Trust? (1958-1962),
then served as Carson's announcer on The Tonight Show (1962-1992),
with his famous introductory line, "Heerre's ... Johnny". McMahon hosted other
TV quiz and variety programs, including the talent contest, Star
Search (1983-1995). He is perhaps equally famous for being a
spokesman for the Publishers' Clearinghouse contest. DAVID RASCHE (born
in 1944) is an American actor whose best-known role is probably the
uber-violent vigilante cop with the gun fetish in the Dirty Harry send-up
Sledge Hammer! (1986-1988). Rasche got his start on stage in 1976 and
made his TV debut in 1977, and has since racked up a total of over 80 movies and
TV shows and four appearances on Broadway. Rasche has often had obsessive
characters thrown his way - case in point, the nuclear-armed anti-nuke
activist in the War of the Worlds-like pseudo-newscast Special
Bulletin (1983) - which may have led to his getting the role of Sledge
Hammer. He has more recently appeared as Robert Gardener in All My
Children (2008). WALKER, born in 1956,has been a cast regular
on four TV series: Nurses (1991-1994), The Bighouse (2004), and
Popular (1999-2000). Since starring in the 1987 Broadway revival of
Dream Girls, she is the only actress to have played all 3 of the female
leads. Her feature films include Scenes from the Class Struggle in
Beverly Hills (1989). CARLOS LACAMARA, born in 1958, is an American
actor with almost 80 movies and TV shows to his credit since 1982. A frequent
guest star on TV, he has has recurring roles on Nurses (1991-1993),
Silk Stalkings (1997-1998), The Brothers Garcia (2000-2003) and
Close to Home (2006-2007). KIP GILMAN is an American stage and TV
actor with almost 50 movies and TV shows to his credit since 1976. A frequent
guest star on TV, Gilman has had recurring roles in Dorothy (1979),
Trapper John, M. D. (1986) and Studio 5-B (1989) and appeared as
Dr. Hank Kaplan on Nurses (1991-1994). MARY JO KEENEN, is an
American actress with 13 movies and TV shows to his credit. A frequent guest
star on TV, she had recurring roles in City (1990) and Nurses
(1991-1994). ADA MARIS is a Mexican American actress with almost 30
movies and TV shows to her credit since 1985. A frequent guest star on TV, she
has had recurring roles on Nurses (1991-1994) and The Brothers
Garcia (2000-2003). Fine condition.
