Printed Art signed: "Olga/Korbut" in blue felt tip. Color 22x14. Russian gymnast Olga Korbut was born on May 16, 1955 in Hronda, Soviet Union. Competing in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics with the USSR team she won four Gold Medals and two Silver Medals. In 1988, Korbut was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. LeRoy Neiman (1926-2012) is best known for his brilliantly colored, energetic illustrations. Based in New York City, he is recognized as the consummate sports artist of the 20th century. In 1972 he was named the official artist for the Olympic games. He was designated the outstanding sports artist in America by the Amateur Athletic Union (1976) and was given the Olympic Artist of the Century Award in 1979. His work is by no means limited to sports themes, however. His artistic themes include animals, historical and celebrity people, and cultural "hot spots." Fine condition.
