ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE MOVIE CAST

time Bond actor!
Photograph signed: "Diana Rigg", "George Lazenby/007", Color 8x10¼. English actress
DIANA RIGG (1938-2020), who is best known for her role as Mrs. Emma Peel on the
TV series The Avengers (1965-1968), had joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1959.
In addition to her distinguished stage work, she also appeared in made for television films and
specials and in feature films, including On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).
Australian-born actor GEORGE LAZENBY (b. 1939) was Europe's top male model
(1964-1968) when he was tapped to play the Ian Fleming character in 1968. Despite having
no previous acting experience except commercials (Lazenby was Europe's Marlboro Man) and
a bit part in the 1965 film,Espionage in Tangiers, Lazenby was given a contract to appear in
several Bond features, but he bowed out after his first and only Bond film. The youngest
actor (at age 30) to play the role, Lazenby was later considered to play Bond for the 1983
film, Never Say Never Again, but he was dropped from consideration when Sean Connery
agreed to star in the film. Lazenby's other film credits include Universal Soldier (1971), The
Man From Hong Kong (1975), The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977),Saint Jack (1979), several
Emmanuelle films (1992), Spider's Web (2001) and Winter Break (2003). He has also
appeared in a number of made-for-TV movies, starred on the TV series, Rituals
(1984-1985), and made guest starring appearances on several TV shows. Although reviews for
Lazenby's performance as Bond were mixed at the time - he was Sean Connery's first
replacement and the only non-Brit ever to play the role- the years have been kind to the
film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and Lazenby is well received at Bond events. Corners
lightly worn and creased. Fine condition.
