1956 contract with the William Morris Agency signed by Stevens
Contract signed "Onslow Stevens". Also signed by representative of the William Morris Agency. 1 page, 13¾x8¼. Oct. 18, 1956. This was a one-year contract, starting on Nov. 1, 1956, between Stevens and the William Morris Agency. Steven engaged them as his agent in return for 10 percent of his gross pay from any performances during the contract. Stevens (1902-1977, born Onslow Ford Stevenson in Los Angeles) was an American actor with 120 films and movies to his credit, as well as seven Broadway plays. He started performing in 1928 in Under the Roof at the Pasadena Community Playhouse, where his entire family worked in one capacity or another, then had his first big success in Stage Door (1936-1937), which ran for 169 performances. He first appeared on the silver screen in The Gay Diplomat (1931) in an non credited role and spent the next 31 years in mostly character roles. He did star in several movies, including fifth billing in Them! (1954) as Brigadier General Robert O'Brien. Lightly toned and creased. Carbon copy markings. Page has been folded in three. Two binder or file holes at top of page. Otherwise in fine condition.
