Oral Roberts clipped signature
Signature: "Oral Roberts", 3¼x1 paper, signed in blue ink with
a pencil line beneath. Granville Oral Roberts (1918-2009), the son of an
Oklahoma minister, attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Phillips University
but left before earning a degree. As a minister of the Pentecostal Holiness
Church, he became a traveling faith-healer, with a large tent that held
some 3000 folding chairs, he developed a huge following. Roberts left the
Pentecostal Church to found Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association in 1947
and began his own brand of Crusades. He began broadcasting his revivals on
television in 1955 - becoming the first televangelist. Oral Roberts
University took its first students in 1965 and he opened his City of
Faith Medical and Research Center in 1981. Both controversial and
respected, Oral Roberts devoted his life to his causes and the betterment of
mankind. Fine condition.
