Autograph Letter signed: "Orrin Holt", 1 page, 8x10. House of Representatives, 1837 February 6. To John Lawler II, North Woodstock, Connecticut. In full: "I herewith transmit report in the Huldoch Luck [?] case and of opinion that [illegible phrase] I am unable to say. Respectfully your obedient servant". Orrin Holt (1792-1855), a Jacksonian Democrat, was Member of Congress from Connectictut (1835-1839). He was active in the state militia, at one time holding the post of Inspector General. Torn at bottom left corner. Lightly toned and creased. Multiple mailing folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
