Ed-/Ray Milland", 4½x5½ album leaf. OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II (1895-1960)
wrote the lyrics for some of the greatest musicals in theatrical history,
including Friml's Rose Marie, Kern's Show Boat, Romberg's
Desert Song and Rodgers' Oklahoma!, Carousel, South
Pacific, The King and I, Flower Drum Song and The Sound of
Music. He won a Pulitzer Prize for South Pacific and
Academy Awards for "It Might As Well Be Spring" and "The Last Time I Saw
Paris". Welsh actor RAY MILLAND (1907-1986) won the 1945 Best Actor Academy
Award for his intense portrayal of an alcoholic in The Lost Weekend. His other memorable films include The
Doctor Takes a Wife (1940), Reap the Wild Wind (1942), The Man
With the X-Ray Eyes (1953) and Dial "M" for Murder (1954), and
Milland also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies. Signatures show
through slightly, crossing each other. Otherwise, fine
condition.
