swirling cape and bon bon not only for your cordial letter but the generous

Oscar Odd "O. O." McIntyre (1884-1938), raised in Gallipolis, Ohio, was a
Midwestern newspaper editor before moving to New York in 1912. Soon he was
writing "New York by Day," a column about life in the City from the
perspective of someone from a small town. The column became immensely
popular, carried in over 500 newspapers. His books, including the best
seller The Big Town (1935), were also popular. He doubled as a
publicist for Flo Ziegfeld and others. After McIntyre's death, his column
was continued by other writers until 1951. McIntyre was noted for his quirky and
colorful language, as in this note. Toned. Heaving mounting residue on verso.
Corner worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
