Super Bowls. Anderson, born in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1957, is a
former running back who played in the NFL, with the St. Louis Cardinals and New
York Giants, from 1979 to 1982. A two-time Pro Bowler, he was AP's
1979 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and MVP of Super Bowl XXV.
Anderson rushed for 10,273 yards in 2,562 attempts and 81 rushing
touchdowns during his career, and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in the first
five of his six seasons. He did have a problem with fumbling, with 13 in
1981 alone, and injuries reduced the number of games he played from 1985 to
1987. However, Anderson seemed to get his game back with the Giants, fumbling
just three times in 739 offensive touches during his six years there, and was
named 1989 Comeback Player of the Year. Lightly creased, otherwise in
fine condition.
