Ritterkreuz/Kanal 1940 ", "Fritz Karch/II/J.g.2 1942-1945", "Gunter Seeger/J g 2 Richthofen in 7s 52 Stlf Kpt/Kanal - Afrika - Stalin" and "Bruno Stolle/Kdr III/J.g.2 - 1943". 7x4¼. Vincennes, Val de Marne, France, June 18, 1971, with one purple-and-white Henry Farman stamp affixed. This fascinating item is something that should interest buffs of World War II aviation and of world aviation in general. It's a commemorative envelope that honors the 60th anniversary of the first long distance air race in 1911. It has a color cachet on the left of a Bristol Blenheim Mk 1 light bomber. The signers are four German Air Force fighter aces with a combined total of 159 air victories; their military records are stamped on the back in German. Contains seven b/w photos of German World War II pilots. Lightly toned. Envelope discolored on front and verso in corner from label (not present). Otherwise in fine condition.
