His ALS written at the bottom of a typed request for autographs, saying he
should be paid for any further requests from the same person.
Autograph Letter signed: "Otto Graham", 1 page, 8½x11. No place, no
date. Written in response to a typed request on the same page for multiple
autographs. To Eileen Marie, in full: "I don't mind signing autographs
for fans but if anyone is trading or selling autographs then I think it is ok to
ask to be paid a fee of $2.00 per autograph. You must have a sister (Susan)
because I have sent pictures in the past to her at the same address PO Box 909.
I will sign and send these but any requests in the future should have enclosed a
check of $2.00 per autograph. It isn't a lot of money but it is only fair. Best
wishes." A basketball All-American at Northwestern, Graham (1921-2003)
earned greater fame as quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, leading them to
seven league titles in ten years (1946-1955). He was the National Football
League MVP twice (1953, 1955), and the youngest ever inductee into the
Football Hall of Fame in 1965. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso.3
