In part: "I am in receipt of your letter of the 12th instant and enclose herewith check for $15 in payment of six tickets for your course of readings of plays...I hope to be able to come to one of the readings...." Kahn, who came from a wealthy German banking family, was a banker in New York by the 1890s. On January 1, 1897, a year after he married the daughter of Abraham Wolff, a partner in the banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb and Co., Wolff offered him a partnership and Kahn quickly became the firm's chief financial genius. He was an advisor to Edward Harriman and was a major investor and President of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Lightly creased. Folds, vertical fold touches the "O" in Otto. Stained at margins. Overall, fine condition.
