Later he pioneered tape and electronic music, introducing "Fantasy in Space" (flute recordings manipulated on electronic tape) at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1952. With Vladimir Ussachevsky, he founded the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center in 1958. Luening also set to music the words of many poets, including Wilde, Dickinson, Byron, Whitman, Blake Shelley and Goethe. Irregularly cut at edges. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through).
