On behalf of his Sigma Productions, Preminger signs a Screen Actors Guild Minimum Free Lance Contract with Rex Ingram, to appear as the character "Thurlow" in a photoplay with the working title of Hurry Sundown. Ingram's salary is $1,500 per week. Both have signed at bottom and initialed the attached rider. Film director OTTO PREMINGER (1905-1986), who became an independent producer and director in the early 1950s, was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Director for Laura (1944) and The Cardinal (1963). His films, which often broke new ground in Hollywood, also include Forever Amber (1947), Stalag 17 (1953), The Moon is Blue (1953), Carmen Jones (1954), The Man With the Golden Arm (1955), Porgy and Bess (1959), Anatomy of a Murder (1959), Exodus (1960), Advise and Consent (1962), In Harm's Way (1965) and Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon (1970). Preminger, who produced, directed and staged a number of Broadway plays from 1935-1973, he is also known to TV audiences for his portrayal of the villainous Mr. Freeze in the Batman TV series. Stage and screen actor REX INGRAM(1895-1969) appeared in many films from 1929-1967, including King Kong (1933), The Emperor Jones (1933), Green Acres (as "De Lawd", 1936), Huckleberry Finn (1939), The Thief of Baghdad (1940), Cabin in the Sky (1942), The Ten Commandments (1956), God's Little Acre (1958) and Elmer Gantry (1960). Hurry Sundown, with a stellar cast headed by Michael Cane, Jane Fonda, Diahann Carroll and George Kennedy, was released in 1967. Multiple mailing folds. Multiple staple holes at top edge. Edges lightly toned and creased. Corners creased and worn. Minor notches at bottom edge. 8½x1¾ attached at bottom edge with staple. Otherwise, fine condition. Previously authenticated by PSA/DNA.
