Nares (1887-1943), born Owen Ramsay in Maiden Erlegh, Berks, England, was an English actor with a long stage career and over 40 films to his credit between 1914 and 1941. He began in bit roles in 1908 on London's West End. By the 1920's, he was a popular actor and male lead in silent films. Talkies and his advancing age relegated him to supporting roles. He was also author of Myself, and Some Others, published in 1925. Letter is lightly toned and creased. Left corners are lightly creased. Letter has been folded in three and unfolded. Letterhead has stained bottom of letter where it came in contact when folded. Small tear at top edge and near lower right corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
