The eminent British statesman pens his name on this six of spades playing card
Playing Card Signed: “Paddy Ashdown” 3½x2¼ on verso of a six of spades playing card. Jeremy John Durham Ashdown, Baron Ashdown of Norton-sub-Hamdon, known as Paddy Ashdown (b. 1941), was a British politician who also functioned as a successfully diplomat. From 1988 to 1999 he was the leader of the Liberal Democrats. Considered to be a polyglot, Ashdown was fluent in several languages including Mandarin. Ashdown was honored for his services to the UK by appointment as Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George. Moreover, he is a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour. One indentation and one scratch, ¼ of an inch apart, extending downward from top edge at about a 45° angle touching signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
