Trained for musical comedy, Pat Carroll (b. 1927) appeared on stage from 1950 and starred in a Broadway revival of On the Town (1959). A popular performer on TV comedy variety shows of the early 1950s (Jackie Gleason, Red Buttons and Sid Caesar), she won an Emmy for her work on Caesar's show (1957). She was a regular on The Danny Thomas Show (1961-1964) and several later series. Carroll is known as the voice of sea-witch Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989), and has a one-woman stage show, appearing as Gertrude Stein. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso.
