Trained for musical comedy, actress Pat Carroll (born in 1927) appeared on stage from 1950, was nominated for a Tony Award for her Broadway debut in Catch a Star (1956) and starred in a Broadway revival of On the Town (1959). A regular on TV comedy variety shows of the early 1950s (Jackie Gleason, Red Buttons and Sid Caesar), Carroll won an Emmy for her work on Caesar's show (1957). She was a regular on The Danny Thomas Show (1961-1964) and appeared as a guest star on a long list of TV shows. Carroll also appeared in a number of feature films, including voicing sea-witch Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid (1989, for which she has two platinum albums). She also had a one-woman stage show (beginning in 1979), appearing as Gertrude Stein, for which she was nominated for a Grammy Award. In recent years, Carroll has returned to her roots on the stage, appearing in a number of Shakespearean productions. Bank stamps touch the "ll" of upper signature and the last "l" and "Ka" in lower signature on verso and the "B" in Bertha on front. Cancellation holes, not at writing. Fine condition.
