Editor John Willis, hoping that there will be pictures of her favorite actor in
the next edition, in particular a "full picture of Lex Barker in brief
loin-cloth"
Autograph letter signed: "Pat Lee", in blue ink, 5x8. In
part: "Mr. Willis, I really enjoyed your "Screen World". I hope 1969
edition will have many pictures of my most favorite actor - Lex Barker. He is
not only Europe's hottest star, he is popular all over the world. - the Orient,
+ right in the U.S.A. I hope you will have a big photograph of him, a big
close-up, a full picture of Lex Barker in brief loin-cloth". Pat Lee
is a Screen World, and apparently, Lex Barker fan. John A. Willis
(1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief
editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one
of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing
(and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the
nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which
received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues
under chief editor Ben Hodges. Light surface creases. Ink notes (unknown hand).
